PhD Studentship in West Africa, The Gambia

The MRC, The Gambia invites applications from African and UK citizens only for its full-time PhD studentships in either of the project areas outlined below:
 
“Predicting the distribution of active and cicatricial trachoma through the development of spatial and genetic targeting of trachoma control measures”

“Mapping the genomic diversity of Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 1 across the meningitis belt of West Africa before and after introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines.”


The Studentships will start in October 2010, and will be full-time for three years, involving collaboration with MRC The Gambia and a UK institution. Full financial support will be provided, including a travel allowance.
