
Tim has a BSc from York University (1982). After leaving university, he worked in the motor trade as a director in the family business where he was responsible for computing and accounts. Between 1990 -1995 Tim worked as the accountant for a computer company in London. In 1995 Tim came to Guinea-Bissau as a VSO volunteer teaching IT at a college of higher education in Bissau. In 1997 he was employed by The Bandim Health project in Bissau to run the field site in Caió, where he has been ever since. In April 2006 he was employed by the MRC Gambia when Caió officially became an MRC Field Station. Tim is fluent in English and criolo (of Guinea-Bissau) and has a good working knowledge of Portuguese and French. He lives in Caio with his seven dogs!
