Inauguration of MRCG at LSHTM’s 501.33 kWp Solar PV System

The Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia at LSHTM, in collaboration with the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and UNIDO, will inaugurate its 501.33 kWp Solar PV System on 30th November 2019, at its Fajara campus.

The Project is implemented by the MRCG at LSHTM, as part of the UNIDO/GEF 5 project: “Greening the productive sectors in The Gambia”, and is the biggest solar power generation system in The Gambia.

The project will cut down on the MRCG at LSHTM’s carbon emissions by a significant amount, in line with the Unit’s overall strategy to make our buildings and operations more energy efficient. The installations were carried out by young women from the M’bolo Association’s skills development project, through their partnership with Azimut 360, the contractors.
