PhD Studentships in West Africa: Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia.
The Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia invites applications, from African and UK citizens only, for its full-time PhD studentships in one of the project areas outlined below:
- Prevalence, vertical transmission and mechanisms of S.aureus resistance induced by one oral dose of 2g of azithromycin given to women in labour.
- Defining the inflammatory pathway and prognostic biomarkers associated with pulmonary morbidity and long-term outcome of patients following TB therapy
The Studentships will start in January 2016, and will be full-time for four years, involving collaboration with the Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia and a European institution. Full financial support will be provided.
